What's wrong with the world?

What's wrong with the world?

I found this material from early 2014, probably from around April, that I scribbled onto a notebook, after having typed it on a little phone a month or two before. This does not resemble the original, but it was in my salad days, long before the true suffering.

**

What is the problem with the [blank] today?

(You fill in the blank.)

**

A coward,
A traitor,

Mature like infants,
Brave like toddlers,
Enduring like matchsticks,

In prosperity, insolent and arrogant.
In poverty, pitiful and begging.

Never understanding, always cruel.
Never compassionate, always contemptuous.
Never forgiving, always destructive.

Envies the good,
Accompanies the miserable,
Blames the good for his misery.

Takes love and gives hate.
Takes creation and gives destruction.
Destroys himself and everyone else.

Weak, and feigns strength by terror,
Soft, and feigns toughness by insolence,
Foolish, and feigns cleverness by convolution,
Slavish, and feigns force by rage.

Trusts no one and suspects every one.
Will kill a fellow kin before expelling an occupier.

A soldier of a common opinion and rarely a holder of a good opinion.

Hates and scoffs what is beautiful and sublime,
Loves and appreciates what is ugly and barbarous.

END.

**

Understand before you hate,
Love what is lovable,
Dislike but never hate,
Feel pity but never contempt,
Admit your own shortcomings,
Acknowledge your own evil deeds
Before acknowledging the evil deeds of others,
Acknowledge the good deeds of others,
Before acknowledging your own good deeds,

**

No one can show you how to live.

Only your own common sense can.
