The Jallabi's Great Trauma

Dear Ragheb 3aläma,
(The Lebanese pop artist)

Since you made a crass remark contrasting Syrian and Lebanese girls with Sudanese and Somali girls, the Jallaba men and women have been struck at their very core, and have done everything possible to let everyone know that their girls are pretty, and can be pretty a la Middle Eastern beauties. Jallaba girls are displayed on Youtube, after being spotted at weddings and concerts by cameramen, and then included more exclusively into the boring and lifeless event. (Outside these two venues, such displays would be “scratching at public morals”, so not technically “un-Islamic”.) You have influenced a nation like none other of your countrymen. Not even Na3üm Shuqayr, your fellow Lebanese, who wrote a comprehensive 5000 year history of Kush like no (lying) Jallabi historian ever could.

* “History of the Sudan” by Na3üm Shuqayr is a book worth translating, by a man whose words were poetic, and who cared for the truth and nothing else. The Jallabis Makki Shibbayka and Yousef Fadl Hassan and the other Arabophilic for-hire historians should be ashamed. His works on Christian Nubia was sparse but and detailed and very sympathetic to that era.

* Nubian girls have natural beauty, like Ethiopian and Ghanaian girls; but if Arab girls wanted to look African, they’d be very hard to look at.
